Patient Flow Coordinator/MA

The Patient Flow/Operations Technician is responsible for patient flow throughout the clinic to ensure an efficient experience for the patients and doctors. The position is responsible for getting patients to exam rooms, cleaning exam rooms between patients, directing patients and staff in hallways, responding to the needs of the doctor and assisting with patient testing as needed. The position requires a thorough understanding of ophthalmic terminology and practice, proper patient care, use and proper care of medical instrumentation and knowledge of safety hazards/precautions. The ability to professionally communicate with patients, physicians and co-workers is critical. Employee must be highly energetic and willing to assist in all areas of clinic success. Position requires walking/standing all day.

List of Responsibilities/Duties
- Insure prompt and efficient patient/physician/technician flow.
- Communicate with patients regarding questions, follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, changes in schedule, symptoms & medication, etc.
- Maintain and clean all equipment and instruments in exam rooms and testing areas. Promptly address any equipment problems with Clinic Administrator.
- Keep all exam rooms and patient waiting areas and restrooms cleaned and stocked daily as appropriate and directed by the physician.
- Assist physicians and technicians as needed.
- Maintain professional demeanor at all times with focus on extraordinary patient care & service.
- Assist with other clinic functions including answering phone, scheduling & filing as needed and as time allows.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned at the discretion of management.
