The applicant will need to be strong with medical terminology, and anatomy. Experience with using CPT, HCPCS, &/or ICD-10 codes, with strong attention to detail for identifying possible upcoding, unbundling, and any general billing errors is a must. Good organizational skills, as well as good time management will be needed. The applicant must be capable of absorbing many resources to be able to learn at a fast pace during the training phase of learning the job position. Some knowledge of CMS, Arkansas Workers’ Compensation, or Commercial Health Insurance payment policies is preferred, but not required. Experience with coding Orthopedics, Hospital/facility or General Surgery Required.
Healthcare Professional Certification is REQUIRED: AAPC CPC, COC, CIC, CEMC, CPB, COSC or the AHIMA CCS are the acceptable credentials. [CPC-A plus 2 years of medical field work experience will be considered]
