The Business Office Manager is responsible for productivity and collections at all levels in Charge Entry, Insurance, and Accounts Receivable Departments. 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Develops all Business Operations priorities, procedures and policies for Arkansas Urology (AU). Determine appropriate and effective performance metrics and staff requirements for the department to run with efficiency, accuracy and outstanding customer service.2. Develops processes and procedures for the efficient and successful flow of interdependent information from all departments into Business Services for Pre-Service, Business Office, Front Desk and Self Pay areas.3. Designs and execute key strategies to drive collection of earned reimbursement.4. Develops processes and policies for exception handling of all areas of Business Services.5. Oversees and manages the daily performance of the Business Services staff, working closely with department leads, managers and directors.6. Monitors all accounts receivable, front desk, pre-service and self pay activity. Monitors staff performance and initiates appropriate corrective measures as needed.7. Monitors compliance with all third party payer regulations.8. Ensures that customer satisfaction is achieved through courteous and effective communication, problem solving and efficient processes.9. Resolves complex patient, physician, and other patient issues when necessary.10. Promotes a team-oriented environment that fosters effective collaboration within and outside of the department.11. Monitors all departmental processes to ensure compliance with performance metrics.12. Proactively identify and assess trends and aberrations then proposing a course of action to the leadership team.13. Hires, coaches and motivates team, working with team leads, managers and directors to ensure proper training14. Maintains confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensures that department remains compliant with all relevant regulations.15. Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission, including adherence to budget guidelines and standards.16. Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.17. Oversee onboarding of all new clinics and physicians.18. Implement and manage new projects19. Assist department team leads, managers and directors on design, implementation and ongoing management of policies, procedures and workflow.20. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines. Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others, plus 5 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
10 years of experience working in the medical/healthcare billing area, with strong, demonstrated knowledge of managing claims processing.5 years of leadership experience with demonstrated ability to recruit, assess, motivate & inspire others to help business achieve success. Leadership in accounts receivable or billing operations preferred.Deep familiarity with payer/insurance appeals and reimbursement processes, experience working in the insurance industry preferred.Demonstrated knowledge and familiarization with the Medicare billing regulations and reimbursement methodologies.Strong analytical and forecasting skills with demonstrated ability to plan workload, allocate tasks and scale operations to align with business priorities.Strong organizational and problem solving skills.Adaptable, open to change and able to work in ambiguous situations and respond to new information and unexpected circumstances.Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills including the ability to easily convey concepts and priorities as well as ability to solicit feedback and inputs.Strong presentation skills with ability to convey information and adjust delivery as appropriate to the audience.Demonstrate ability to inspire and motivate others and work effectively through influence and collaboration.Supervisory ResponsibilityResponsible for approx. 20 employees from multiple departments.Travel to other locations as needed.  Must be available for travel as needed for conferences. 8:30AM - 5PM, Monday - Friday.  Must also attend after hour committee and board meetings as needed.
